RE: The current state of the modified car scene
theres more modified cars out there, than there is cruisers

ill explain... if you didnt know about the scene, or much about it, or how even how to get into it, and youre a fresh faced 17 yr old, you see a modified car drive past you, and you think 'i want that' so you pop down to your local halfords, and crash straight into it - job done, you own a modified car, but you still aint a cruiser!

my point being, cruisers need to let these new modified car owners know about the scene, and what is on offer to them, that will increase cruise and show attendances as well!

on another point, youre thinking, 'ye, but theres alot of halfords crashed shitboxes out there giving our scene a bad name' well folks, we all had to start somewhere, my first car was a shit nova i crashed 4 times (not into halfords!), i now own a £15k Perkins show car and ive been in the scene 11 yrs!

everybody in the scene isnt going to own a show car straight away, not everyone has the budget for it, cruisers are cruisers, and it doesnt matter whether they are rolling on 14" 3-spokes or 18" chromes, and it doesnt matter whether 100 cars turn up, or 1000 cars, a cruise, is a cruise!

RE: The current state of the modified car scene
With regards to organising the 1st national cruise...there has all-ready been 3 of them!!!

The scene today is ruined by the 435625243509423263 car clubs that there is. Instead of thousands of people hitting cruises on Saturday nights, they all have their gay little pub meets on nights during the week. Or meet in their village Alldays car parks.

The car shows today are shit. There used to be Donny, USC and Trax. That was it. Each show had new metal with different shit going on. Now its all the same crap...shit cars with lambo doors and 10ton body kits. Every man with a bit of land seems to be having a show on!

I spend all day driving on the roads, and i reckon there is alot fewer modded cars about. However, I have also seen how many people have modded cars as weekend toys now, and drive some shitter about during the week.

The whole scene is a revolution. When I 1st got into it, it was all about big engines and going sideways. It went to big stereo's, then to gay bodykits (I mean, where do you see a Mhyneer kitted car now!?!?) and now its going back to big engines again and drifting. People think drifting is a new thing specially with stuff like FnF. Infact its not...we've been drifting for years!

Cruies will never be the same again. Car parks get built with barriers in them, lockable gates, speed bumps, CCTV. I mean lets face it....who really likes a cruise where everyone just parks up?! It's all about burnouts and blowing up tyres, doughnuts, loud music etc. And this brings me back to all these wank car clubs who promote parking up and doing f*** all. Who would actually prefer that than steaming to a cruise at 130mph, pulling into the car park which is full of smoke and hench bass?! And thats just reminded me....I remember when convoys used to travel at 100-120mph all the way to put off shit, slow cars!

Legal cruises are boring as f***. And deffo not the way forward. To organise a minter, it needs to be kept underground. NOT advertised all over the web, facefuck etc. 3-4 back up locations need to be found locally. It needs to be somewhere never used before for a cruise, convoys timed previously so you can get all the cars in within a 30 min window. It takes months, and a fair bit of dosh. Shit like phoning a supermarket and asking if you can use their car park is fucking ridiculous! I've done my time organising cruises...and am talking from experience.

Errm....anyway, think thats everything! Bit round-about, but there we go!

Big Grin

Of course I'm talking sense....I've been involved in the scene for 20 years!

Which brings me to a point....how can this website try and get things back to the old way, when half its 'reps' don't drive, and are in their teens? So unless they were cruising in nappies, I don't really think they can assist!

Now this is all able-bodied and acceptable in theory, but as anon as you accomplish something legal, you abolish the risk. And whether you like it or not accident is one of the things that acclimated to accomplish cruises exciting.

RE: The current state of the modified car scene
So what is the use of buying your own car on your first cruise? As you have said a new member of the league will definitely envy every car in the cruise thus prompting him to buy something inappropriate. Ok, I get your point, no matter how modified or powerful a car is, the only thing that makes sense it the euphoria you get during cruise. Cars, drivers nor car accessories are just secondary, what is important is the show itself. Just be careful while driving!
